Jr Sting Help Canada to Victory at Nations Cup
The Jr Sting Bantam 98's travelled to the St Clair Shores area to take part in the Nations Cup tournament showcasing Canadian teams against US teams in a three day tournament.

The format of the tournament had each of the 5 Canadian teams play four of the US teams in round robin play and then the Sunday games were dependent on the postions achieved during the round robin matches.

Round Robin Results: 2w, 1l, 1t

Game 1     Sarnia-2    Mackinaw City Northern Avalanche-0
Game 2     Sarnia-1    Belle Tire Dearborn-2
Game 3     Sarnia-1    Chesterfield Falcons-0
Game 4     Sarnia-1    Kensington Valley Rebels-1

After completion of the preliminary games the Jr Sting found themselves in 3rd position on the Canadian side which put them in a 3 point game vs the home team Fraser Summit. The Canadian teams had built a large lead going into the Sunday games and hoped to finish strong in their white/red team Canada uniforms.

After jumping out to a quick 3-0 lead the Jr Sting had a bit of a let-up and soon found themselves in a 3-2 battle with the Summit squad. A late third period empty net marker would result in a well earned 4-2 victory and cap off a strong weekend showing for the Sarnia players. Final day results had Canada with 3w's, 1t and 1l to clinch the Cup.
