1st Playoff Game Report
Hello Team and Parents, this week we played our first playoff game and the TEAM performed like a well oiled machine!! Our competition would be the second placed Purple Pirates who beat us in close games during the regular season. Today`s game would be a high light filled, action packed match up that would keep the fans on both sides on the edge of their seats and screaming for more!!

The 1st period tested our goalie James Robbins right off the opening faceoff as the Pirates stormed in and peppered him with 3 quick shots which he calmly directed away. That quick start certainly woke our team up and we responded with Connor Vandermeer streaking down the ice to deliver his own message to their goalie with a shot that would test him also! On our defensive side Jordan Brooks was there to block a shot that had eyes for the back of our net. Offensively Ryson Payne was a defenseman who was seeing the ice well and took advantage of the Pirates mistakes and took off on numerous occasion's twice putting the puck over their net before he finally found the back of the net and put us on the board 1st. The second period started with a bang as Greyson Levy collided with a Pirate but shook it off and got right back in the play. Once again Connor Vandermeer tested the opposing goalie with another break away that he tried to stuff in the wrap around attempt but was denied! Beast defenseman Noah Mooser was also seeing the ice well and consistently hit our forwards with beautiful set up passes to create scoring chances and frustrate the Pirates defense. Keaton Appeldorn also got into the action as he collided with a Pirate at centre ice and they both dropped to the ice like a sack of potatoes! On the blueline Terrance Williams and Matthew Ray were part of the pressure that kept the puck in the Pirates end as the line of Greyson Levy ,Keaton Appeldorn and Kaleb Orrange found some chemistry and had the Pirates goalie scrambling to make save after save!! Jack Berry took one for the team as a puck torpedoed off his face mask, nice one Jack. Finally the Pirates put one past our netminder to tie the game and send it to the 3rd period. The 3rd proved to be a heart stopper as Jimmy Lawrence and Landon Williams went in together on another break away only to also be denied. Terrance Williams was all over a Pirate as he had his break away attempt stopped by the Beast`s goalie. At 6:13 of the final period the madness erupted and the Pirates took the lead. But the Beast within our team came out and instead of giving up we picked it up and Jimmy Lawrence broke away from everyone to whistle a puck into the Pirates goal and erupt the crowd! With 4:40 left James Robbins stepped up his game with 3 game saving stops and a high glove save that calmed down our team as we would finish our 1st Playoff game with an incredibly exciting tie!! Well done TEAM!! The coaching staff has noticed how everyone is having FUN as on the bench in between shifts is a very fun place to be and we could not be happier for the players please keep up the good spirits and positive attitudes!! See everyone at Friday`s regular practice time 6:00.And remember boys if we are not Hunting Pucks we are not doing good stuff!!  GO BEAST GO!!
